  • I am not the user of the product. But I have been told that it works just fine. The fact that it can be used in shower/bath makes it a great product. Otherwise, the earlier Brauns that she used to use was just as good. Rating: 3 / 5

  • I have purchased two of these epilators. They are the most pain free of all that I have tried. They do a good job of removing hair. Rating: 5 / 5

  • At first I thought this item was great. I epilated a week’s worth of hair growth and was looking forward to not seeing anymore hair for a month. However, I realized that hair grows in cycles from each follicle. Hair that gets epilated is the hair that’s out, just under the surface, there may be hairs that will surface the following day and therefore would need to be epilated soon. A convenience is that shower-time is shortened as I don’t have to add shaving to my daily routine. Also, you can epilate while you’re sitting on the deck or watching TV. I tried it ‘wet’ once and didn’t care for the results.

I am disappointed in the amount of time it takes to epilate. You may have to go over and over the same spot a number of times to catch every hair – with shaving, one quick swoop and the hair is gone. It takes me a good 20+ minutes, not less than once a week. Also, sometimes the hair that grows in doesn’t break surface, it forms a small cyst or bump under the skin. That requires picking open the bump with a tweezer or something and then epilating it.

So, all in all, if I had to reconsider buying this thing, I probably wouldn’t.

  • I highly recommend this product. It is easy to use and charges without any problems. It does not hurt, or pull or damage the skin. Rating: 5 / 5

  • First of all, this was an impulse buy, although I went to the store to buy “something”. Something better than the regular ol’ razor. Perhaps I would try the latest and greatest in the Nair or Veet department? (Every few years I do this as I think there has to have been some breakthrough in the formula that I just must try. I would fall in love and forever leave the necessary evil of shaving behind.) So back to reality …. I purchased the Epiglide at Target ($70 — of course amazon has it twenty bucks cheaper *sigh*) after thoroughly reading the boxes of the four or five models they had in the store. I picked this one up because it had the attached trimmer (a very nice feature and ultimately the deciding factor) AND it was also wet/dry. I decided to try to use mine in the bath w/ shaving cream. I also dabbed a little bath soap on the epilator head to keep everything flowing smoothly. Now this is not a quick and painless process at all. The directions booklet claims that the pain lessens with use. As for me, I didn’t bleed and the redness I got went away after a few hours. Sure the 36 or 37 tweezers that are ripping out the hair at the root hurt (especially shins) but really? What did you expect? Personally, I’m really happy with this product but I think you have to go in with reasonable expectations. Expect this to take some time (took me a solid 20 minutes for both legs and the bikini area) and while it’s not child-birthing pain, there is some discomfort and dammit, it kinda hurt. But not enough for me to put it down, forget I ever purchased the thing and put it up on craigslist that very evening. I also suspect that with regular continued use “shaving” will take a lot less time and effort. The box claims that after using the epilator you will be hair free for 4 weeks! I don’t believe that for one minute, so if my legs stay relatively hair free for half that amount of time, I’m still a satisfied customer. Plus, it comes with a little bag to store everything.

I have yet to try my underarms. As of the first use I was not that brave. But I have read other reviews of the previous model that say with a good lather, you can do your underarms pretty quickly and with less pain then your legs. I think I shall try it tonight ….. Rating: 4 / 5
