The laser and IPL hair removal industries have been booming over the last decade. At the same time there’s been an increase in the the number of burnt and injured people after hair removal treatments. In most Australian states and territories you dont need a license for a machine and pretty much anybody can buy one off the internt and start zapping away. Doctors are calling for strict regulations over these machines – they say medical supervision should be mandatory when these powerful machines are used.

I had a laser hair removal done on my bikini area in the morning and ended up having to have a colposcopy which resulted in a biopsy in the afternoon. I have been cramping badly and very swollen for the past week after the procedure. I went to see my doctor to ensure I was okay but she said I was just healing. Last night I was cramping so bad that I began to vomit. Today, I am still cramping but not vomiting. Should I be worried?
